Happy New Year

sweater, free people; skirt, plastic island; shoes, bebe; pins, nashua & chanel;

I have never been so happy to see the ups guy deliver me shoes ever before. After opening the box I quickly put them on and did my happy shoeaholic dance. I love every single thing about these, oh except the sharp pain while walking but I can learn to live with that. I know I'll get the usual questions from many of you so here is a quick review:
  • Fit is not really true to size, especially since bebe does not have half sizes for this shoe. I'm usually a true 6.5 and I got a 6. It's a bit tight in the toe area.

  • Not a distance walking/dancing shoe

  • If you have a bebe in your area, I recommend going to the store to try them on before purchasing to make sure the size fits

  • They are AWESOME, and make me like a foot taller

  • Also, I did the drawing for the Nashua bundle that many of you entered.
    Watch to see who won ;)

    Hopefully everyone's holiday vacation was filled with good times with friends and family. I've been enjoying my time off of work, being lazy and just hanging out with friends. The other night a few girlfriends and I went to candy cane lane, to look at the lights and freeze our butts off. Also, I would like to let the world know that food network is officially my favorite tv channel. If only I wasn't a vegetarian and pretty grossed out by touching meats I would love to be a cook.
    Now I'm off to vaccuum my car and check out some after xmas sales.

    my bangs are at the really annoying/awkward stage of the growth process and since i always forget to purchase more bobby pins they have been taking over my face lately.

    This past weekend was a fun one, it consisted of a trip to big bear to snowboard in amazing plush fresh powder, being lazy and sleeping in, and hanging out and being silly with friends. Yesterday, a couple of friends of mine and I went melrose to do some last minute xmas shopping. While we were nonchalantly cruising, a legitimate pimp dressed in an all emerald green zoot suit (sp?) standing outside his matching green/gold cadillac hit on me and even tried to stroke my arm. I think I should refrain from wearing hooker shoes for a little while.

    I'd like to introduce you to my awesome friend Joey. He sings, he has the best hair that I envy, and he's cool enough to wear really long shoes.

    fur & gold

    dress, h&m; cardigan, target; faux fur coat, express;shoes, newport-news.com;belt, vintage;

    this morning my friend and I woke up at a highly inconvenient-early-as-buttcrack time for Sunday morning to go down to the American Apparel holiday warehouse sale, hence the pictures of me ghostly & sans make up. We get there, and it turns out the line is 2 hours to get in. Cranky and lazy, we didn't wait. We just checked out the regular warehouse store, grabbed a few items (90% of which are for xmas presents that I'm making for my peeps), and jetted it out. The super cool cashier dude Andrew reassured me that the outside sale was mostly t-shirts and I probably would have had to dig really hard to find stuff that was really worth waiting 2 hours for in 4inchers.

    I have become extremely attached to this coat. I've worn it everyday the past week,even when it did not go with anythign else i was wearing. It's pretty much the next best thing to being warm and cozy in bed. I'm sure that doesn't make any sense.

    Last night I watched the movie American History X and cried my eyes out at the end. This film provides a really interesting perspective on neo-nazi's and prejudiced people in general, and I think it was beautifully made. I'm really not a big movie buff, but I think everyone could find something really relatable in this story. Netflix it!

    I have a small obsession with Natasha Khan, you should too.

    neglected todo list

    So I realize I have totally neglected my blog and pretty much the whole blog world. I've been busy with work and life. The whole pitch black at 430pm isn't helping either. The next couple weeks should be alot better, christmas vaca and all. The days off should help me get some of the things i've been putting off for a while.
    TODO
    blog more frequently
    vacuum car
    hang all artwork and shelves that have been laying around for months
    paint bathroom
    go snowboarding
    learn at least 4 new phrases of french everyday (goal is to be able to actually speak in about 4 months)

    Although I didn't get a chance to document my daily outfits this week here are a couple pics from this week.

    With friends, Spellbound Escape @ The Key club. Wearing an Alexander Wang Tee & some diy slashed gap jeans

    Movie night with some girlfriends. Wearing a rolled up vintage slip, f21 dress, and gojane shoes

    I normally shudder at the sight of anything rhinestoned, but this cascading beauty of a necklace stole my heart. Every gangster needs a little ice; now I only wish I was cool enough to be a gangster.

    Plastic Island SS09

    A couple weeks ago the lovely Shun at Agent Icon asked me to come in and do a mini shoot for the Plastic Island SS09 collection. I was really excited to get to try on all the amazing clothes that are pretty much exactly my taste, fun and girly with a twist! The collection is a great mix of loungey yet edgy tops & vests, to funky and super fun pants, and of course an amazing floral skirt. My favorite piece of the line would have to be the structured yellow and white plaid dress! Thanks to Shun & Jay all the peeps at Agent Icon & Plastic Island!

    Teen Vogue: Blogger of the Moment

    I am exicted to share that one of my favorite magazines since I was like 15, Teen Vogue, has featured me on thier website as blogger of the moment. I feel like a ding dong for being so damn excited, the nerdy fashion junkie side of me is not as cool as I'd like. Big thanks to Naomi!
